Awesome article. You forgot to mention all the water issues. Did you know that farmers were forced to stop watering crops so that there could be fountains outside of many of the venues. Oh yes. Disgusting ins't it!
Wouldn't want to feed people--nope....gotta save that water for a bunch of visual effects.

I am shocked at all the controversies of this particular Olympics.

Not content with just one aggressive comment? You had to attack me twice? You must be fun!

Paranoid? I'm not concerned with China overtaking America in any manner. If it comes to a military move, we'll just bomb China into oblivion - population and number of soldiers don't matter in that situation.

But I find their disregard for basic human rights and a "normal" standard of living difficult to swallow, as any person who's grown up with immense freedom and rights will.

Modern Americans have major issues with the sociopolitical situation in China for many of the same reasons Americans of Yesteryear saw Russia as the "big bad guy": disrespecting the common people in order to further a military or political agenda that only benefits a small contingent of people, who disregard the same rules and regulations they so brutally enforce throughout their country.

Also, where the hell did India come into this? And they "beat" China in... what, exactly?

You can't provide evidence to the contrary for any of this. So, next time, Mr. Outspoken Kiwi? Pick a fight you can win. And don't put Americans in a corner...

Most western people like you are paranoid when you talking about China. Corruption is everywhere in third world, India definietely beat China.

In the so-called evidence found by Stryde Hax. That “He Kexin” in "evidence" screenshot showing that girl is from Wuhan of Hubei provence, however the “He Kexin” in the Olympic game is from Beijing. Yes, another WMD is found.

I agree completely! I've lived in China and I can tell you first hand that corruption among the government officials is rampant there. Considering that Stryde Hax has obtained proof that the Chinese gymnasts are underage, I think that someone ought to start a "FAX the IOC" campaign to express outrage and to urge the IOC to investigate this age scandal, at the very least.

That's what I was getting at.

I have a major problem with China's government, but even moreso that the IOC and other organizations "overlook" the lies and deceit, when millions of Americans and Europeans are screaming in outrage of the injustices.

Is anyone going to hold China to account on the promises it made that hosting the Olympics would improve human rights in China?

It must not forcibly return North Korean refugees to their country where their lives are in danger. Just like it must let people practice whatever religion they choose, it must let journalist go about their business without censorship, it must tell peaceful human rights defenders go about their business, it must let ethnic minorities to express their culture.
